Welcome to our latest Clarion Newsletter. In this edition we would like to give you some feedback on the Clarion Show Day and new directions under discussion at the event.

Clarion Show Day
On Friday 6 August we hosted the first Clarion Show Day here in Centurion. On the day we wanted to get Clarion users from all over RSA together at some forum – something that hasn’t been done in years. Our intention in future is to host the event at least twice per year so that the local Clarion community can interact face-to-face, not just over the Internet.
Presentations for the day was done by Bruce Johnson from CapeSoft and myself. In the first session Bruce gave the audience an overview of Clarion 7. It covered the new IDE and differences in the development cycle when compared with Clarion 6. In the second session I elaborated on the state of Clarion in industry and presented the notion of Clarion Partner Groups as an alternative to Clarion User Groups. The main difference between the two types of groups is that the Partner Group has a commercial ground for association where the User Group has a loose and individualistic ground of association. In the afternoon session Bruce discussed the NetTalk 5 WEBServer capabilities.
We would like to thank all of the attendees for making the day special. We appreciated the lively participation from the audience in the discussions and look forward to presenting the next edition of the Clarion Show Day, probably in the first quarter of 2011.

| Latest Clarion 7 Release
On Wednesday 25 August, SoftVelocity has released build 7472 of Clarion 7. In this build a large number of fixes have been applied.

| Clarion User Groups
We invite any group of Clarion developers that have frequent (or infrequent) meetings on Clarion issues to submit their meeting information to us for publication in our newsletters.
