New Update of Clarion 7

SoftVelocity has released a new update (build 6955) of Clarion 7 during last week. With each new update, the user experience of Clarion 7 is improving significantly beyond the already stable and efficient environment we have with Clarion 7. With only a few of the previous major releases of Clarion have we experienced such a seamless conversion to the new release as we have now in Clarion 7. The new IDE is very different, but it has brought about serious productivity enhancements that the developer can't deny.

It is expected that the same IDE for Clarion 7 will be used for Clarion.NET. You will then have a single tool from where you can develop and maintain your current Clarion applications, as well as from where you can develop and maintain Clarion.NET applications. Currently the IDE's are separate installations and instances, but that is about to be changed when Clarion.NET goes gold.

Clarion Resources
In the March issue of the SoftVelocity blogs ( http://clarionsharp.com/blog ) you can learn more about XML handling in Clarion 7. This site is packed with many useful articles on using Clarion 7.

In www.clarionmag.com we found an excellent duo of articles called "Converting C6 Apps to C7" whereby the author spends a lot of effort explaining the detail of taking over an application to C7.
Clarion Showday
We would like to test the interest of Clarion users in holding events whereby we present Clarion in an open forum. It will be one-day events, hosting a combination of presentations, vendor stalls and leisure time. Please let us know if you would like to attend such an event in your area. We would also like to encourage the Clarion User Groups to jump-in with us to host the event in your area - to show your commitment to serving the Clarion community.
